Woodland Christian Schoolhas been serving families in Yolo County since 1974. WCS offers four educational programs: Preschool, Elementary, Middle School and High School.

Our goal is to come along side parents of WCS students from a young age all the way to their young adult years in helping them to understand what the Love of God means, grow them in knowledge of the one true God who created the heavens and earth, and then teaching them how to share this knowledge. You see, it's not just about paying attention to the pastor on a Sunday morning, it's about living your life for God and seeing the world as God see's our world. We are in it, but not of it. Preparing future generations with true knowledge, compassion, respect and responsibility are the characteristics we strive to develop in each WCS student.

Preschool and Daycare

The preschool and day care center provides a stimulating Christian environment where children learn and explore their world. The young children make new friends, gain self-confidence, create art projects, grow intellectually, learn to share, enjoy stories and play games - activities all designed to help children prepare for the formal school experience. Learning to become comfortable with school routines, to develop respect for others and to express themselves are important goals of our program. Our day also includes Bible stories and songs in a Christian atmosphere where children learn of God's love for them.

Elementary School

Woodland Christian School is committed to providing our students with an excellent academic education, a safe environment, a place to enjoy learning, and an opportunity to grow in God’s knowledge and understanding. It is with great joy that we watch young lives grow and mature along the way to their adolescent years. In the elementary program we see a tremendous growth in academic skills through quality God-centered curriculum and instruction. The guidance by devoted and qualified Christian educators is central to the students continuing development. Highlights of the year are participation in the Spring Open House, Family Picnic Day, Grandparents’ Day, various themed days, and Winter/Spring Concerts for those in band. The fourth grade classes participate in an overnight camping trip at “49er Camp” in Coloma, centered on learning what life was like during the Gold Rush days in California. The fifth grade students and their families have an opportunity during Spring Break to participate in an eight-day trip to the east coast. They learn about our nation’s history, our Christian heritage, as well as a glimpse of God’s hand in our history as they travel from New York City to Williamsburg, Virginia, with stops in Philadelphia, Gettysburg, and Washington, D.C. Our sixth grade students wrap up their elementary years by attending a week at Hume Lake Christian Outdoor Ed Camp. During the year we finish each week by having chapel time on Friday mornings. This is a very special time for us as a student body and faculty to sing and worship God together. Students hear the Word of God taught at a level that meets their needs and helps them grow to be better prepared for the future. Learning their ABC's is only one aspect of growth and maturity. One distinguishing feature that sets Woodland Christian School apart is a devotion to a Christian perspective. Students are taught to order their lives around Biblical principles, have respect for their parents, show devotion to their country, and demonstrate a love for God. God has blessed us with the potential to expand and have even a greater impact on our community as we build for the future through quality Christian education.

Middle School

Middle school is designed to be a bridge between the self-contained elementary class and the departmentalized high school. Students in our seventh and eighth grades enjoy a personal academic environment with caring teachers. In addition to a challenging academic program, middle school students also have the opportunity to take elective classes in computer keyboarding, Spanish, choir and band. Students also are provided the opportunity to be involved in student council and a full range of athletic opportunities.

High School

The high school years provide an important transition from childhood to early adulthood. Students at WCHS are provided a choice of three academic tracks to prepare them for future college and work aspirations. Graduates of WCHS have been accepted at over 90 colleges, including all of the University of California campuses. Students at WCHS have many opportunities for leadership training in Student Council and National Honor Society, as well as opportunities in a wide range of athletic programs: football, soccer, volleyball, basketball, baseball, softball and golf. Our students are challenged to be persons of faith through Bible classes, chapels, back-to-school retreat and community service.
