The Waldorf curriculum is designed to give the child a secure basis in the language arts, mathematics, sciences and social studies. Waldorf education is based on a deep understanding of the children’s cognitive and physical development and a fully integrated curriculum of well-balanced arts and academics that truly meet the child at each stage of development.

The uniqueness of Waldorf education lies in how the children are taught. Whether the subject is arithmetic, literature, or geography, the class teacher brings knowledge to life through vivid characterizations and absorbing experiences that heighten students’ curiosity and engage their feelings. In the main lesson, a two-hour uninterrupted period, children create their own subject lesson books, reflecting the diversity and breadth of the curriculum through illustrations, wet-on-wet paintings, hand drawn maps, form drawings and essays.

Academic and artistic experiences develop movement and sensory motor skills — skills in perception of self and the outside world. This cultivates trust, social skills, consciousness, and spiritual awareness. Through individual and group work, the children learn empathy and appreciation for each other’s gifts.
