incipal's Message

Welcome to the Vista Fundamental School website! Vista is one of two fundamental magnet schools in the Simi Valley Unified School District. The schools were developed in 1982 in response to a desire in the community for a "back to basics", structured learning environment. Many of the original tenets remain in place. These tenets include daily parent involvement in the educational process, high expectations for academic achievement and behavior, and an emphasis on the traditional values of accountability, punctuality, diligence, personal responsibility, respect for authority, courtesy, and teamwork. Our motto, TEAM Vista (Together Everyone Achieves More) reflects the strong commitment of the students, staff and parents at Vista Fundamental School.

The Vista Staff encourages you to get involved in your child's school life. Become an active member of the PTA. Your involvement in school functions with your child will provide lasting memories in the years to come.

The Vista Staff looks forward to providing a rich learning environment for you child. Together we can make a difference in the life of each Vista Eagle.

Vista's Vision

Vista Fundamental School is dedicated to academic excellence within a structured learning environment that maintains a high level of commitment by students, parents and staff. This ongoing partnership between home and school is a critical attribute of the fundamental philosophy. A consistent educational program exists within a nurturing and challenging atmosphere. Emphasis is placed on the achievement of the California Content Standards as well as the values of accountability, punctuality, diligence, personal responsibility, respect for authority, courtesy and teamwork. It is the District's policy to provide a free appropriate public education to all students with disabilities in conformance with the provisions of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 in all of its schools, including Hollow Hills and Vista.
