Mission Statement
Village School, a family centered nurturing community, inspires children to discover their fullest potential on the road to life-long learning.
Children, parents and teachers working together in harmony!
Philosophy
Village School's holistic approach to primary education has proven to provide children the firm foundation needed for success in secondary school.
We use District and State guidelines to shape the school philosophy and curriculum. From that foundation parents, students and teachers collaborate to create a strong school community in which parents are involved in governance, in the classrooms, and in program/curriculum support. Parents provide a wealth of resources to enrich the child-centered, developmental, hands-on educational experience. The increased adult to student ratio (1 to 6 for grades K-3: 1 to 8 for grades 4 & 5) allows for small groups of students to successfully work as a team, as well as for each student to be given individual attention in the classroom.
The community spirit at the school has a powerful and positive impact in the students, the school, and the families. The shared learning experiences strengthen and enhance parent-child relationships. Because the parents participate at the school, they develop a keen understanding of their child's education, and the students develop a confidence about their place in the world. Education, as an important family value, becomes part of the child's sense of self.
