Principal's Message
Our school is a special place where students and parents are valued and treated with respect. Staff, parents, and other community members work together through our Parent-Teacher Club, Site-Based Leadership Team, Garden Committees, Art Docent Program, Family Activity Nights, our DOGS (Dads of Great Students) Program, as well as volunteering in the classroom. Our ultimate goal is to collaboratively create an educational atmosphere that is safe and enriching for all students.
Students at Twelve Bridges Elementary are provided with standards-based curriculum that has been specifically designed to help each student achieve the absolute best results possible. Students will be challenged and inspired to reach their potential through lessons and activities that are meaningful and engaging. The students will be given the opportunity to learn the state content standards through cross-curricular and hands-on activities involving classroom garden plots, outdoor learning centers, and computer technology.
Some examples of the types of opportunities available to our students are:
*Science curriculum taught by a science specialist each week
*A large greenhouse utilized by students on a regular basis
*A full-size orchard, planted and maintained by students
*A school-wide music program taught to students by a music specialist
*An after-school band and choir program for our upper grade students
*A comprehensive Art program taught by teachers and parent volunteers
*A fully-stocked Art Room, equipped with a kiln
*A powerful character education program that is embedded school-wide
*Extensive physical education opportunities including a circuit training center and rock-climbing walls.
The students at Twelve Bridges Elementary are viewed as our future leaders. They are equipped with knowledge and concepts along with the tools to understand how to best use information to make wise and informed choices about their lives. Our goal at Twelve Bridges is to create well-rounded students that are empowered to bring about positive change in our world.
