Welcome to Sycamore Canyon School!

On behalf of the entire Sycamore Canyon School community, I welcome you for what will prove to be a most rewarding and successful educational experience for every student entering our campus. Students, their parents, and staff will work diligently to make the most each day in a culture of shared dedication and excitement for new learning opportunities. Getting kids to believe in themselves, providing each learner a challenging curriculum, and collectively enjoying a “fun” and meaningful school environment will yield remarkable outcomes.

Students in primary grades will develop a foundation of the skills for learning and appreciation for classmates, their ideas and how we learn and grow together. Students in the upper elementary grades will also discover new perspectives about ideas and concepts, use writing to develop their own viewpoints, and participate in numerous classroom and school activities to stretch them beyond our Standards-based curriculum.

Sycamore Canyon’s Middle School students will continue their learning and apply such knowledge with rigorous curriculum, excellent social skills, and school-based and community outreach opportunities which will unlock doors of opportunity in high school and beyond.
The staff and I take our responsibility to create and maintain a safe and exemplary learning environment seriously. With supportive parents and the greater Ventura County Community, we will succeed in providing the enriching elements and activities which encourage, inspire, and acknowledge the best in each of us.

Respectfully,
Dr. Jon Sand
Principal
