St. Raphael School is a fully accredited Catholic School. It is part of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles and the parish school of St. Raphael Church in Santa Barbara, California. Our school community has a caring, professional faculty, dedicated to Catholic education and strongly supported byan active involved parent association.

Mission

St. Raphael School is dedicated to the spiritual formation of each student. Our school community nurtures the growth of the whole child by instilling Catholic Christian values that foster eachstudent's unique spiritual, moral, intellectual, psychological, social, and physical growth.We achieve this goal through our school wide learning expectationsand the continued support of our clergy, principal, teachers, staff, school families, and parish community.

School Learning Expectations (SLE's)

St. Raphael School administration, faculty and students follow guidelines known as School Learning Expectations to nurture the growth of the whole child.

I. Committed Catholics who:

Demonstrate practices of the Catholic faith through participation in liturgy, the Sacraments, traditional devotions, use of the Bible, and service to others.

Learn Gospel values, Church laws, and teachings.

Demonstrate respect for life and all of God's creation.

2. Academically Prepared Individuals who:

Demonstrate a strong work ethic, including organizational and study skills.

Understand and express ideas and concepts learned through all curriculum areas.

Demonstrate an appreciation for fine arts.

3. Effective Communicators who:

Articulate effectively through public speaking and writing.

Learn and develop listening skills.

Demonstrate intrapersonal and interpersonal communication skills.
