Welcome to Shasta Lake School, home of the Rams. At Shasta Lake School, Our mission is simple. We value and challenge each student and provide opportunities for their success. We believe that the Lifelong Learning Standards of our district are the life skills that students need to be successful throughout their academic careers and beyond. Students at Shasta Lake learn to be collaborative workers, self-directed learners, participants in society, information processors, effective communicators, and complex thinkers.
At Shasta Lake School, we believe that the key to academic success for all of our students is a strong literacy foundation. LIFE (Literacy Instruction for Everyone) is a key component of our K-5 classes as well as our special education classes. Literacy across the curriculum has been our focus for several years and continues to be of primary importance as we continue to see the benefits in the achievement of our students. Students at Shasta Lake School are actively engaged in reading and writing across the curriculum. Our goal is that our students see themselves as successful readers and authors. Another important aspect of a child’s education is the parental support. Parents are a huge asset and a valuable resource. We encourage you to volunteer in our classrooms and join our Parent Club. We also ask that you emphasize the importance of education by making certain your child is at school on time each day, scheduling vacations and doctor/dentist appointments during non-school hours, attending parent/teacher conferences, and monitoring your child’s homework.
In closing, I look forward to working with you and your child this year. Please remember to take some extra time to talk with your child each day about the daily learning and encourage them to read. Working together, we can provide a quality learning experience for all.
