Dear Community,
It is with great pride that I serve as the superintendent of the Ojai Unified School District. Our schools, students, and staff are among the best in the state. Here are just a few of our recent accomplishments:
Nordhoff High School recently joined Meiners Oaks, Matilija, and San Antonio schools as California Distinguished Schools. Nordhoff was the only high school in Ventura County recognized for this achievement last year. San Antonio School was again asked this year to apply for another California Distinguished School Award due to their exceptional 888 API score last year.
OUSD schools consistently score among the top schools in all of Ventura County on the state STAR assessment.
OUSD has an outstanding performing arts program Nordhoff High School and Matilija Junior High music programs both have received multiple awards and honors. Nordhoff students also shine in our dance and drama programs.
Approximately half of our secondary students participate in our very competitive sports programs at Nordhoff High School and Matilija.
OUSD students are among the most healthy students in the county based upon state physical fitness scores.
Meiners Oaks Elementary and Nordhoff High School both were winners in the the Governor's Physical Fitness Challenge Competition. Both schools were among six schools identified in the county for top fitness. Meiners Oaks School was the only school in the county to be recognized as a regional winner in this area.
These accomplishments are not possible without strong support from our parents and community. Thank you for working with us to develop in our students the essential skills and knowledge for their future success.
Tim Baird, Ed.D.
Superintendent
