Joe Henderson Elementary School is located at 650 Hastings Drive in an area that is primarily residential, adjacent to Jack London Park and across the street from the Southampton Fire Station. The school first opened in January 1987. It serves approxiamately 600 students in grades K-5, but enjoys a community family atmosphere that is usually found on a much smaller campus.
Joe Henderson was the first elementary school in the district to be designated as a California Distinguished School. Students and staff treasure the adventure of learning and consistently maintain a high level of achievement as their efforts and hard work are rewarded.
