I truly believe that Denair Elementary and Denair Elementary Community Day School is a very vital part of the community and is not just a school for the students attending it. I want you to feel that all of you are a very integral part of our learning community. Everyone who is a member of this community, students, parents, teachers, secretaries, administrators, para-professionals, the custodians and the maintenance staff are actively engaged in learning and growing. We can encourage and learn from each other while solving meaningful problems whether it is in math, language arts or social problems. We know that when we learn together and from each other it is one of the most powerful ways to learn, build relationships and community. I encourage each and every one of you to become involved in our learning community. The more you are involved, the more we will all benefit. I also strongly urge you to join the Denair Parent Service Club and to volunteer in our classrooms. The fundamental nature of a school changes from year to year, depending on the students, parents, and staff that choose to become a part of it and actively engage in the journey of learning. You and your child add to changing who we are, just as you will change, because of who we are. I look forward to taking this exciting and wonderful adventure with you this year, as we try to educate the whole child by focusing on their educational needs, hopefully instilling within them a lifelong love of learning, incorporating mutual respect for diversity and encouraging parent involvement.
