Robert Semple Elementary, named after one of the city's founders, is a kindergarten through fifth grade school with approximately 450 students. Built 50 years ago, Semple has been a intregal part of Benicia for half a century. Many of our parents attended Semple when they were children. The boundaries of our schools have recently changed and Semple's community has expanded to include most of the east part of town as well as part of downtown.
Semple is a neighborhood school. On weekends you will see community youth teams playing sports on our field and children and parents playing on the playground. Many children walk or bike to school. We have easy access to several parks, the public library and downtown for walking field trips and activities. Semple has close ties to the artist community of Benicia and artists are involved in our school
